Thank you for considering applying for the 5th open call of the “Ginza NFT Gallery”. The application period for the 5th call is from 18th to 19th July. However, in the event of a large number of applications, the application process may be closed earlier. In the previous three open calls, the application process was closed within one day.
Forty works will be selected for this open call.
For those of you who are new, we will start with a brief introduction about the Ginza NFT Gallery.
Applications have been closed. Thank you for the many applications.
Introduction (About the Ginza NFT Gallery)
The Ginza NFT Gallery is a mobile web app that utilizes the platform of the mobile museum developed by us. Works selected in the open call will be included in the Ginza NFT Gallery.
Although it’s a mobile site, it can be launched from an XPAND Code attached to a physical location, allowing you to link the physical and mobile.
Submission Requirements
Requirements for Submitted Works
- The piece must be considered by the creator themselves as “art”.
- The creator must be able to provide us with either an image file (png) or a 3D file (glb).
- The artwork should be linked with an NFT and be viewable on marketplaces such as OpenSea.
Requirements for Applicants
- Submissions are limited to the creators themselves. Those who have purchased the NFT of the work cannot apply. If the creator is under the age of 18, please submit with the consent of a guardian or have the guardian apply on your behalf.
- AI-generated works can also be submitted. However, the requirement is that the applicant must be the generator and must have legitimate rights to the use of the work. This means not infringing on the copyright or other intellectual property rights of others, or having received permission to use from the rights holder.
- It is the responsibility of the applicant to determine whether the work meets the application requirements. We will not be involved in the judgment process nor will we assume any responsibility for it.
The Process from Application to Exhibition
Firstly, please apply using the form below.
Please note, those who pass the selection process will be contacted via email, not through Twitter DMs. The email will include a URL for a form to submit necessary data, and an invitation URL for our Discord support channel. The selection results will be sent only to those who pass the selection process. Expect an email from the xpand.co.jp domain around the 21st July, so please make sure not to miss it.
Once we receive all the required information by the deadline, your work will be exhibited in accordance with the public schedule of the Ginza NFT Gallery.
The Ginza NFT Gallery is operated for promoting our products, the XPAND Code and the Museum Platform. As such, there is no charge for submission or exhibiting online.
We only display a duplicate of the artwork, so there is no need for you to send us your original NFT art.
Artwork Exhibition on Outdoor Digital Signage
A selection of artworks will be broadcast on outdoor digital signage in Shinjuku and Ueno, Tokyo. We are running “Tokyo NFT Art Caravan”, a series of exhibitions on outdoor digital signage at six central locations in Tokyo.
“Physical” Exhibition in Ginza, Tokyo
We are planning a “Physical” exhibition in Ginza, Tokyo in October. Ginza is a hub for art and culture in Tokyo and is also known as a high-end commercial district.
All works that pass our open call selection and are included in the Ginza NFT gallery will be featured in this exhibition. We will announce further details in the future, so please keep an eye out for our updates. At this point, the following matters have been decided:
- We provide a paid plan and a free plan.
- The free plan is a rotation display on a monitor or projector.
- The paid plan includes panel output, support for merchandise sales, replacement for new works, and other benefits.
- If you sell goods, we will provide staff and payment methods, and it is not necessary for each creator to be resident.
